The lore between Kevin and Sophie started in high school. Kevin supposedly tried to sniff Sophie's over-the-ear Beats headphones. For over a decade, a lot of people assumed that they shared that interaction. Spoiler alert: it was a different Sophie, who also studied at YHKCC and was in the same year. Despite having a number of close common friends, Kevin and Sophie were never introduced to each other in high school. The assumption was always that they knew each other, and every time Sophie would ask which Kevin their common friend was referring to, he would often be described as "the tall guy with glasses." They officially met in late August 2021 at an evening junk boat party that Sophie almost bailed on. She was urged by her mum to go anyway as she had already paid. Even before the boat left its dock, Sophie already had her eyes on Kevin, who she first saw in the reflection of the boat's doors. They stuck together as the night progressed — and they haven't left each other's side since.
